To celebrate the one-year countdown to Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Tokushima Prefecture hosted the “One Year to Go! Expo Prefectural Office Marche” on Friday, April 12, 2024.

The event featured the official Expo 2025 mascot “Myaku-Myaku,” special product booths from various municipalities, mascot meet-and-greets, and a stunning “Trio of Light” installation that showcased different local lighting designs. The event drew a large crowd and was filled with excitement.

Expo 2025 will attract millions of visitors from around the world—making it a major opportunity to promote Tokushima on a global stage. The prefecture will continue working with communities to refine local attractions, build momentum leading up to the Expo, and energize Tokushima for the future.

As part of Tokushima Prefecture’s concept of “an Expo created by and for the people,” efforts are being made across the region to build momentum ahead of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. On Friday, April 5, 2024, a collaborative 3D modeling session took place at *Matsushigate*, a community exchange hub in Matsushige Town. With the generous support of the Matsushigate team, a detailed 3D model of the Tokushima Pavilion was created. This model will be used in future Expo-related events to help promote Tokushima’s presence and appeal on a broader stage.

Traffic restrictions will be in place on the day of the event: starting at 14:00 in front of the main entrance rotary, and from 16:00 at the North Gate 1 entrance. If arriving by car, please use the south-side entrance of the government building.

To promote a unified prefectural effort toward Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Tokushima Prefecture held the 5th meeting of the “Tokushima Prefecture-Wide Expo 2025 Coordination Council” on March 14, 2024. The meeting gathered representatives and experts from various fields to exchange ideas and share updates.

As part of its goal to create an Expo “by and for the people,” Tokushima Prefecture hosted a workshop on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Matsushigate—a local community hub in Matsushige Town. Participants worked together to create promotional materials for Expo 2025 that showcase Tokushima’s culture, including decorative panels made from traditional indigo-dyed fabric. These handmade materials will be used in upcoming Expo-related events to help promote Tokushima to a wider audience.
